THE LAB

The other half of the brain. One-off builds I make because they won't leave me alone — no brief, no roadmap, no client. Some shipped to an audience of one. Some are gloriously half-finished. All of them taught me something I now use in the day job.

Reasonable Days

SvelteKit · template

Proves the personal dashboard forks into a template; paused, not dead — the reasonable-ux public flip was priority #1.

building

Reasonable Voices

eval-first · Cloudflare Worker

Killed the product, kept the lesson — eval-first, the matrix chose the model before any UI. The voices may come back as this site's own split-personality chatbot.

LLMOps Curriculum

build-in-public · 7 phases

Build-in-public learning — live progress tracking with a GitHub link per section as the work lands.

System Health

self-discovering · 22 checks

Every failable check must emit a concrete remediation command — not 'check your token' — so the monitor is the thing that pays attention.

Proxmox · infra

Architecture decided (Proxmox on real hardware); blocked on spend, resuming over July time off.

Rules of the Lab

  1. If it's interesting, it's allowed. No business case required.
  2. Ship it ugly. A working ugly thing beats a beautiful plan.
  3. Steal the good parts back into the day job.
  4. Half-finished is a valid resting state.
